1. What do you miss the most about your brother?

What was your grand / master plan as a child?
To *have* a grand/master plan. Even as a small child I was keenly aware that I lacked either a vocation or a dream. I was a horse tragic, but not so tragic that I didn't understand the utter impracticality of owning a horse or making a living from them. I knew that I would need variety, that's about it. Life was all about getting a decent job that wasn't too horrible. I grew up in a public service family.

What was your first job?
Library/clerical assistant. I wasn't officially on the payroll until 16, but I'd helped (constructively) around the office since about 12. I got paid in Lindt!

Was this in any way related to what you saw yourself doing?
I was grateful it had nothing to do with fast food (i.e. messy and bad hours). I appreciated the fact that I was gaining experience in job-market-friendly skills from an early age. The repetitive bits reinforced my need and desire for project-based work. I developed my love/hate relationship with computer systems from the very beginning. So, kinda.

How would you describe yourself to others in 10 words or less?
With difficulty :P

OK: Friendly, intelligent, witty, quirky, intense, organised, creative, lateral, scary, fluffy.

Alternatively: Smart-arsed, messy, unreliable, irritating, oblivious, jumpy, irrational, self-obsessed, unhealthy, overweight.

It depends *why* I'm describing myself to someone else :-)

1. What kind of art do you like?
I am ecclectic in my art tastes. Photographically, I like landscapes, panoramas and close ups that show intricate details. Artistically, I like things which are unique, which blend colours well and has great composition. It doesn't matter about the subject as such, but I tend to be drawn to colour and composition :) I like a lot of Moonvoice's work for it's originality.

2. Why no pets?
Because we are slack and still have not put in side fences. And we aren't home for significant periods of time. I would feel horrible about locking an animal up inside all day when most nights we don't get home until 6.30 - 7.00. To me a pet is an extension of the family, and leaving it for so long is neglectful on my behalf.

3. Do you have any food allergies/issues?
Not that I am aware of. I'd like to think I don't because if I was allergic to something it would curtail my experimentation! But as far as I am aware, I am not allergic to anything :)

4. Do you sleep well?
Usually yes. I make lots of posts about how sleep is overrated etc, but I think that is because I sleep pretty well and so I can do a whole day on about 4 - 6 hours of sleep. I did New Year's Day stupidly on 3 hours :) I know when I am stressed because I don't sleep well.

5. Why do you do your job if it drives you crazy?
I love the agency, I love what we do. I don't mind the work, but I adore being a part of an agency which attempts to make a difference, and in knowing in some small way, I contribute to the making a difference. It's more management, HCN, and the attitudes of some of the people here which frustrate me. All the red tape which upholds a government department.
